TAMPA - The Bucs continued tweaking their roster Sunday, releasing safety Eugene Wilson, according to the NFL Network.
Wilson came to the Bucs as a free agent during the offseason and was expected to provide depth at cornerback and safety. He struggled to play at a high level during training camp and was exposed during the team’s final exhibition game at Houston.
Wilson was apparently let go to make room for an offensive linemen as the Bucs have reportedly signed offensive lineman James Lee, a tackle out of South Carolina State who went undrafted this year.
The Bucs have been looking to add depth to their line, particularly at tackle, where the loss of Luke Petitgout has left them a little thin. Lee was seen by many as a practice-squad level player but the Bucs need for depth up front apparently made him attractive as a regular roster member.

Please limit your criticism to the Meaning or Crux of the comments and Not Spelling, Grammar, Punctuation or crap that doesn’t matter. If you can understand the writer’s intent, just read it and leave perfection to TBO or the other sports writers at ESPN, NFL, SI etc. They are the ones that know everything as evidenced by their noses being shoved up Drew Brees’ rearend.

Never saw anyone cruckified… : )
This article about overpaid free agents. Everyone complained more free agents weren’t signed. Wilso was supposed to be a ‘great’ pick up. Couldn’t even make the team. This might say something about all the ‘great additions’ we missed during the off season. Just maybe our guys have more talent to begin with? Just a thought?

Tarnished Image? What tarnished image? Last I checked the nfl is about winning games,.. not flashing an image.I personally have no problem with anything the Bucs front office have done...There’s nothing to cruckify Gruden for, if there was, the Glazers wouldn’t have given them extensions.

and that’s whole, not hole, before you start on my spelling,....my spelling’s fine,… my typing sucks.

C’mon, you guys wanna bring Hardy Nickerson outt retirement too? Leave the hole Lynch thing ago, he cannot bring anything here, our defensive backfield is too deep and talented to bring in someone like Lynch. Lynch will go to a desperate team, because he’s old. I love Johnny, he’s one of my all-time favorites, but his time has passed.

Lynch might be a good addition. He would be like an extra coach. It would be a nice way for him to finish his career. The tarnished image of the front brass would start to gain a bit its luster back.

With release of Wilson, Bucs should sign John Lynch, knows the system and would bring his knowledge to the rookies. He would only be a back-up, but what a back-up!

The Bucs should have signed Willie Anderson from Cincy to back up tackle. He is a former probowler with lots of experience.
