ST. PETERSBURG—It’s fitting that David Price can pitch the Rays to the playoffs, since he is their best pitcher and all.
But the news today at the Trop is the fallout from what Evan Longoria said about Monday’s small crowd and Price’s tweet that called it “embarassing.”
As a result, the Rays will give away 20,000 free tickets to Wednesday night’s game, the last home game of the regular season.
A Rays win or a Red Sox loss sends the Rays to the playoffs for the second time in three years, a pretty neat trick in the AL East.
