James Wilder, Jr.‘s offseason has picked up where his incredible football season left off.
The Plant two-way starter continues to make quite an impression on the national scene. At yesterday’s U.S. Army All-American Bowl National Combine in San Antonio, Texas, Wilder was selected the MVP of the underclassmen competition. Wilder competed with juniors from across the country and several local standouts, including Alonso’s Anthony Chickillo and Plant quarterback Phillip Ely.
Wilder’s participation in the combine will be highlighted on NBC today at 1 p.m. during the broadcast of the U.S. Army All-American Bowl Game. Tampa Catholic senior quarterback Chrisitan Green will be participating in the game.
Since helping lead Plant to its third state championship in four years, Wilder has been honored as an All-American by USA Today and MaxPreps and also was named as one of ESPN’s Top 10 to watch in 2010.
