The White Sox have taken their biggest lead of the series, scoring three runs in the bottom of the fourth to open a 4-1 lead against Matt Garza.
Jim Thome, the offensive hero of Chicago’s playoff victory over Minnesota earlier this week, led off with a double. Paul Konerko walked and Ken Griffey Jr. singled to load the bases. Alexei Ramirez drove in one run with a sacrifice fly, and DeWayne Wise sent home two more with a one-out double.
