MIAMI GARDENS - Just as he was getting into a groove, defensive end Stylez G. White has been forced out of the Bucs lineup.
Pushed to the sideline by what appears to be a pinched nerve in his neck and shoulder area, White remained in Tampa when the Bucs traveled to Miami for Sunday’s game against the Dolphins.
Receiver Antonio Bryant stayed behind in Tampa as well, meaning he will miss his second consecutive game.
White’s absence could prove more damaging, however. Since taking over as the Bucs starting right end three games ago he has recorded 18 tackles, three sacks and seven quarterback hits.
White will likely be replaced in the starting lineup by Tim Crowder, a 2007 second-round pick of the Denver Broncos whom the Bucs picked up off of waivers on Sept. 14.
In 26 games the former University of Texas standout has has recorded 38 tackles, five sacks and one fumble recovery.
Maurice Stovall is expected to make his second consecutive start in place of Bryant. Stovall caught three passes for 21 yards in the Bucs 38-28 victory over Green Bay last week.
