Which Bowl Projection Do You Like?

The bowl projection season is in full bloom, and most of the national sports websites predict a USF-UCF meeting in the St. Pete Bowl.

However, St. Pete Bowl officials are lukewarm to the idea of USF playing in the bowl for a second consecutive season, and USF officials aren’t heads-over-heels in love with the idea of playing in St. Pete for the second consecutive season either.

Here are a few of the projections:

CBSsports.com: USF vs. Georgia in the PapaJohns.com Bowl

ESPN.com: USF vs. Southern Miss or UCF in the St. Pete Bowl

SportsIllustrated.com: USF vs. South Carolina in the PapaJohns.com Bowl

Rivals.com: USF vs. UCF in the St. Pete Bowl

CollegeFootballNews.com: USF vs. UCF in the St. Pete Bowl

Of course, these projections could easily change after Saturday’s game against Miami and the regular-season finale at Connecticut. The Gator Bowl, Meineke Car Care Bowl and International Bowl remain in play.

Personally, I’d prefer that USF-South Carolina game in the PapaJohns.com bowl. Spurrier vs. Leavitt. Homegrown star QB Garcia vs. Bulls defense. Some good storylines there.

Which game would you prefer? And no worries, you can change your selection at any time.

There sure are a lot of experts that think we will be playing in St Pete. I hope not. I’ll go, but it’s not a great bowl game. Especially if it’s UCF - I like those guys and all, but I don’t think anybody wants to see that game. Not them, not us, not anybody on TV. now, I could stand for an olf fashioned @ss whuppin laid on Southern Miss (quality nopt quantity). And I could get a bunch of folks to go to the Gator Bowl. USF against the Gamecocks would be nice. I’ll vote for that.

Of the above options, I vote Bulls vs Dawgs in Birmingham.

But, lets hope the team stays focused, wins out, we catch a few breaks, and get a piece of the Hokies at that Gator Bowl. With the Bowl shuffle next year, this is our last opportunity at that game.

I agree with USF99. If a VA Tech is a viable option (Gator Bowl), then that’s the best option.  If not the Gator, then playing a SEC team in the Pappa Johns Bowl would be best game for USF.  I don’t think going to Birmingham as a fan is nothing exciting, as Charlotte, NC is a much better city to visit and the Meineke Car Care Bowl is against an ACC team and we’ve played against ACC teams before. So, pizza bowl against SEC, but city isn’t all that appealing.  I see myself in Charlotte, but not Birmingham.

Surely we would all prefer to be in the Gator Bowl against anyone rather than any of the other alternatives (however unlikely that is) and then either the papajohn or meineke against a BCS team, rather than against a CUSA or other similar team.

Ken makes a good point. Whatever bowl gets us the best recruiting and notoriety. Whatever bowl isn’t named something ridiculous. Gator bowl against a good team. Oh, and by the way, we would need to WIN IT! But before we go off on any of those tangents, let’s focus on beating the team we play THIS SATURDAY. GO BULLS! BEAT MIAMI!
