Despite tonight’s loss, there is a scenario that could have the Rays clinch a postseason berth Friday night.
The Rays would have to beat the Twins, and the White Sox (at Kansas City), Blue Jays (vs. Boston) and Yankees (vs. Baltimore) all would have to lose.
Also, the Rays say there are about 9,000 tickets remaining for Friday’s game.

What a choke job. The Rays have a chance to bury the Twins and now they have life.Wheeler is fine in the 8th, but how many hr’s has he given up in the last 6 weeks? The Rays if they are able to hang on and make the play-offs, they will be doing it without a closer.
Suggest removalWhen will Upton be back? Perez butchered that ball in the 9th. Why does it seem after a great win, and the Rays are about to finally win over all of Tampa Bay, they kick one away like tonight.
