We are only a few hours away from Tampa Bay’s first set of cuts.
The Bucs are slated to lose five players today, with final cuts occurring on Saturday.
My question to you Bucs followers are which five players would you depart with right now if necessary? Who are some guys that have not impressed you so far?

ok! 5 players to cut!
5: ben troupe(bust)
4: cotez hankton(too much ahead of him)
3: daniel fells(speaks for itself)
2: jeff garcia(wow me please!)
1: josh joshson(give me a break, it get a lot better)!

Well getting the ball back in record time must save a whole .01 seconds and that would explain why he can weigh 250 and still be a center. As for a special team stud… well he did record 1 assisted tackle last season on special teams. Check out his career stats too… oh that’s right 1 carreer assisted tackle!

All of you who think we should get rid of Economos are naive. Economos is an Elite long snapper in the fact that he gets the ball back faster than anyone else in the league. On a Field goal or punt you don’t want bulk you want agility. Plus although Zuttah is everyone’s new favorite player, I don’t think anyone wants to see him covering a kick (can you say crack-back on the big fella)!

I would cut everyone who is injured except for guys who can be put on PUP. It’s time to play ball. If they can’t play and are not starters, they must go.

I think I agree with some of the fans. Cut the Long Snappw, and keep that undrafted CB Mack, Also bring on allpurpose rb from I believe from Fresno State I believe. Settle all the IRL personnel. Kee both FB, and Keep Dunn,Bennett & Graham. And Let Williams rest untill he is ready half way through the season where his fresh legs would be available.

5 players won’t be cut. Look for 2 or 3 players placed on IR. Cash will be on IR or get injury settlement. Nicholson will be on IR. Marcus Hamilton might be on IR after colliding with Cash on Saturday. The 2 players to be cut will be no names.

I can’t believe the Pigskin Preacher didn’t know that Sergei Ivanov doesn’t count against the roster! You disappoint me Preacher

Brandon,
“Economos is the only special teams OC we have⦠we just signed him to a very lucrative (for a special teams C) long-term deal.” That’s exactly my point… Why not get Buenning or Zuttah to snap and then you get an EXTRA lineman for the entire season. Plus you get more beef on the field and avoid those blocked kicks that lose games for you.

Nunya,
Economos is the only special teams OC we have… we just signed him to a very lucrative (for a special teams C) long-term deal.
Darby will not get cut today, the Bucs need a RB to take the carries this week and who better than a guy that will be looking for work in a week? Keeping Darby will save wear and tear on Bennett.
Because of Joseph’s injury I don’t think we’ll see an OL cut, though Phil Bogle is not a bad choice. The team would like to get the starting OL and top backups out of the game ASAP.
For those that don’t know Sergei Ivanov does not have to be cut yet, the Bucs have an exemption on him.

Daniel Fells, Antoine Cash, Carl Stewart, Darrell Hunter, Cortez Hankton

1)Paris Warren-A miraculous preseason can’t save this overachieving preseason wonder.
2)Marcus Hamilton-He’s played better than Eugene Wilson and Darrell Hunter but he can’t play this week and won’t make the final roster so he gets an injury settlement.
3)Marques Douglas-Brought in to possibly start but he’s getting his time in the 4th quarter. Is fat and not explosive. The Bucs would rather watch Peterson, Moore, Bennett, and Bradwell go out there.
4)Eugene WIlson-Perhaps this week is a little too early, but he has struggled and has done nothing to justify his place on this team.
5)Antoine Cash-WOuld have made the team last season (instead of IR) but hasn’t impressed this season, look for Cash to receive an injury settlement.

1. Economos OC - 250 lb center that only plays special team?
2. Stewart FB - won’t make final roster anyways
3. Fells TE - who ?
4. Nece LB - thanks for the effort but the new guys are an upgrade
5. Warren WR - 4 yrs and yet to get on the field? Even Clayton has at least given something on the field.

Not sure, but the Bucs need to use Michael Bennett and Ernest Graham as their two main backs.
Posted by Darin Shaw, Pigskin Preacher Blog on 08/26 at 01:26 PM
1. Eugene Wilson (get it over with)
2. Chris Simms (we’re not going to get trade value for him, let’s guit holding him hostage)
3. Sergei Ivanov (it’s a numbers thing)
4. Paris Warren (i know, we all want him to make the team, but thus far hankton and lucas have earned another few days, and warren hasn’t)
5. Daniel Fells (who? exactly!)

Chris, I’m with you on Economos. You have to keep that guy. I trust that Gruden & Allen knew what they were doing with Economos. It sounds great to have a Lineman do that job, but right now it obviously isn’t our best option. Economos stays & earns his $4 mill. The US won & lost Gold Metals swimming by .01 seconds. It all counts in fast motion.
