Wharton sophomore quarterback Chase Litton could miss up to four games with a concussion, Wharton coach David Mitchell said.
On the final play of Wharton’s second-to last drive of the game against King on Friday, Litton was sacked and stayed on the field, prone on his back. Following roughly a 10 minute delay, Litton was removed on a stretcher and was taken to Tampa General Hospital.
Mitchell said junior defensive back/receiver Vernon Hargreaves III will step in as the starter. With Hargreaves at quarterback, Mitchell said we could see the Wildcat formation or more quarterback option against Sickles on Friday.
“We’ve got to move the chains better in our running game,” he said.
