Wharton girls soccer player Baylee Dozark has committed to Division III’s Emory & Henry College in Emory, Va. according to Wildcats coach Denis Vukorep.
Dozark, a four-year letter winner, was a captain for the Wildcats this season while playing center midfielder. She scored five goals this season and had 10 assists for Wharton, which went 12-6-3 this season before dropping a tough district semifinal match to Newsome losing in penalty kicks 9-8.
“Baylee was a good leader and great captain for this team,” Vukorep said. “You’ll miss her on the field sure, but it’s those other contributions she makes before the game, at halftime, in practice and working with our younger players that’s going to be truly hard to replace.”
