Friday’s scheduled football game between Wharton and Plant City has been moved to tonight, and the location has been moved to Wharton, a school official at Plant City confirmed this morning. The game is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m.
The change was made because Plant City’s field, which was resodded before the season, still is not ready. This is the third home game Plant City has lost because of the field’s condition. The Raiders also lost their Kickoff Classic against Tampa Bay Tech on Aug. 29 and a Sept. 19 game against Riverview. Both games were played on their opponents’ field.
Plant City is scheduled to host East Bay next week, but it is unclear where that game will be played.
