West Florida Lacrosse League names All-League selections

The West Florida Lacrosse League has named its All-League selections, with five players being honored as the players of the year for their respective positions.

Jesuit’s Zack Spranger, who scored seven goals in the Tigers’ 16-3 victory against East Lake in the WFLL Championship game last Saturday, was named attacker of the year. Plant’s Peter Banta, who will play for Providence next season, and Adam Cunningham were named long-stick middie and goalkeeper of the Year respectively, while Freedom’s Nick Garofano was named defenseman of the year and Wesley Chapel’s Kyle Rutowski the middie of the year.

First Team

Attackers: Zack Spranger, Jesuit; Adam McCall, Wharton; Daniel Casselli, Plant; Vincent Lodato, Jesuit.

Midfielders: Kyle Rutowski, Wesley Chapel; Constantino “TJ” Martinez, Jesuit; Alfred Allesi, Jesuit; Nico Beskid, Freedom; Sergio Jacinto, Plant.

Long-Stick Midfielder: Peter Banta, Plant.
