Wesley Chapel lineman Kamran Joyer gave a verbally commitment to the University of South Florida today. The 6-3, 320-pound guard will likely move to center for the Bulls.
“We took a look at Miami yesterday and weren’t impressed with Miami,” Kamran’s father Jack Joyer said. “He really likes [offensive line coach Mike] Simmonds and Coach [Jim] Leavitt and then he has an opportunity to start right away. They will move him to center.
“It’s close to home and he will be able to compete for a state championship in weightlifting and track by not having to graduate early. Had he choose Florida or Miami, he would have graduated earlier.”
Although Florida had not offered, they were one of the programs Joyer considered, Jack Joyer said. He’s received scholarship offers from USF, Tennessee and South Carolina.

“His final decision came down to Miami and South Florida. The Bulls stood out for Joyer but to also be fair the Hurricanes hadn’t yet extended an official offer to the talented lineman as of Tuesday June 17th despite a visit to Miami to check out the campus.”

Verbal Comments don’t mean anything, it just means as of right now the kids has a home if nothing else comes forth. I don’t believe that if Miami or Tennessee officially offers a scholarship the kid he is going to Choose USF over Miami or Tennessee, South Carolina maybe.

This is just a ploy by Wesley Chapel’s head coach and USF to find out if any of the big three programs have an interest in the player. He does have talent but he is in an out dated football scheme. They are running the wing-T which, we all no is a fool’s offense. No one runs that stuff anymore. Most kids that come out wing-t never play because they are so far behind the curve.
