Just when Wesley Chapel athletic director Steve Mumaw thought it was OK to relax, he was sent a curve ball.
After hiring Amy Seidl in July to take over the volleyball program from Perri Hankins, Mumaw learned Tuesday he would be without Seidl. According to Mumaw, Seidl, a Michigan native, accepted a teaching position in her home state and will be returning.
The team will be led by interim coach Amy Thompson. Although the job will be re-advertised on the school district’s website, Mumaw admitted he’d like to take Thompson’s interim title away and make her the official head coach.
