Welcome to the new Frank’s Tacklebox online. In this space, I’ll try to answer your emails, provide some insights into all things outdoors, and even offer up some tips on hot-spots you should be checking out. We’ll also present a chance to vent on topics of fishery management, game laws and boating regulations, and provide quick links to tide information, weather, and state and federal fishery regulations. Come on aboard and be a part of your new outdoors web site.

Hi, and thanks for “On The Waterfront, look forward to reading about the fishing everyday.
Am relatively new to saltwater fishing, but have fished for years on lakes and rivers.
The tides are a challenge. Every once in a while in fishing columns, I here about fishing on a fast tide. What determines a fast tide? And also what is considered best? A one tide day or a two tide day?
Once again thanks.

Taking up fishing again 2 years ago, “On The Waterfront†has been a huge help to us.
Thanks also for making us aware of Capt. Fred Everson in Ruskin. After your article I bought his latest book which has also been a help. I also bought one of his rods. The rod is fantastic for inside fishing so I got a few more and now my friends who use them are ordering them as well. Fished with Fred last week, he is a great guide too.
Thanks and Happy New Year Frank!

Hi, looking forward to visiting this site often.
Just want to say I enjoy the “On The Waterfront” articles in the paper, now there is a GOOD reason to look at the “Sport Section”.
Now if you’ll just tell me if it’s necessary to use glue on the Pro Line to mono knot and what is a really good knot by the way.
Keep up the good work!....

Frank,
A neighbor of mine was telling me about a research station out from Crystal River. Do you know anything about where it might be located and when/what type of fish would be caught?
Thanks as always!
Ken
