Land O’ Lakes quarterback Stephen Weatherford has collected another offer from a potential college football program.
This time, Gators coach Matt Kitchie reports Iowa State has thrown its hat in the ring. Weatherford, a junior, has already fielded written offers from the University of South Florida and East Carolina University. According to Prism Press Group, he’s also gotten an offer from Vanderbilt.
If you take a peek at the hurler’s stats from the past two seasons, it’s understandable why the offers are coming. This past season, Weatherford completed 128 of 206 passes for 2,052 yards, 27 TDs and 5 interceptions.
His sophomore season, his first full season as a starter, he completed 94 of 158 passes for 1,254 yards, 10 TDs and seven picks. As a freshman, Weatherford completed 49 of 91 passes for 648 yards, seven touchdowns and three interceptions. That year he split time with starter Ely Payne.
