As if the day hasn’t been fulfilling enough after having received a football scholarship offer from Iowa State, Stephen Weatherford was added to the prestigious Steve Clarkson Dreammaker Tour stop in Orlando.
The camp is a one-day event held at the Citrus Bowl in which quarterbacks are evaluated in four categories: accuracy, pocket presence, long distance throws and an individual interview. When the tour concludes its 16 different stops around the country, seven quarterbacks will be selected to participate in the Steve Clarkson Super 7 Maui Retreat. There, the participants will work with the likes of Joe Montana, Warren Moon and Heisman Trophy winner Matt Leinart.
Called the “The most powerful QB coach in football: by ESPN, Clarkson has worked with many of the nation’s top signal callers. Alumni of the Dreammaker tour include: Jimmy Clausen, Matt Barkley, Terrelle Pryor, Russell Shepard, Blake Bell, E.J. Manuel and Nick Montana among others.
That invitation came Friday afternoon. Earlier in the day, Iowa State threw its hat in the ring, joining the University of South Florida, East Carolina University and according to Prism Press Group, Vanderbilt, as those offering Weatherford a scholarship.
