Took this short video today to give a glimpse of the Lightning’s top power play unit. There is a lot movement with this power play, point men jumping down low, guys switching sides, and you can see what their basic idea is to jump around, get penalty killers into a scrambling mode and get the goalie moving as much as possible to open up passing lanes and shooting lanes.
Oh, did I mention this is the first power play unit that includes Vinny Lecavalier, Steven Stamkos, Marty St. Louis, Simon Gagne and then either Pavel Kubina (right handed shot) or Brett Clark (left handed shot)
The second unit consisted of Mattias Ohlund and Victor Hedman working with Ryan Malone, Steve Downie and Teddy Purcell.
