The Steinbrenner baseball team will welcome two special guests for tonight’s home game against Middleton, the first home game in program history.
Warriors coach John Crumbley said Friday afternoon that Hank Steinbrenner, the eldest son of New York Yankees owner George Steinbrenner, for whom the school is named, will be in attendance for tonight’s game, and Yankees pitcher Joba Chamberlain will also attend and throw out the ceremonial first pitch.
Needless to say, Crumbley said the team was excited.
“No doubt about it,” the coach said.
Steinbrenner, which opened in the fall, played its inaugural game Tuesday night on the road and knocked off Gaither, 5-4.
Tonight’s game against Middleton is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
