The University of South Florida had nine football players represented on the Phil Steele’s 2011 Midseason All-Big East Team, but just one earned a first team nod: senior offensive guard Jeremiah Warren.
Warren, in his third season as a starter on the Bulls offfensive line, has helped paved the way for an offense averaging a Big East-best 503.6 yards per game, including 232.2 rushing yards per game, also tops among league schools.
Sophomore receiver Sterling Griffin, who leads USF in receptions and receiving yards, and junior linebacker Mike Lanaris, the Bulls leading tackler, both were second team picks.
USF had six representatives on the third team: junior quarterback B.J. Daniels, junior running backs Darrell Scott and Demetris Murray and senior center Chaz Hine on offense, and true freshman defensive tackle Elkino Watson and sophomore linebacker DeDe Lattimore on defense.
