Members of the Plant and Berkeley Prep state champion volleyball teams were named Under Armour Girls High School All-Americas Tuesday.
Plant senior outside hitter and Penn State commit Maddie Martin was named a first-team All-American, teammate and senior libero Ali McCurdy (Duke) was named to the second-team, and Plant senior setter Becca Howard and Berkeley Prep senior middle hitter Lindsay Young (Colgate) were named honorable mentions.

Martin, along with the other 23 players on the first-team, will be invited to play in the Under Armour All-America Volleyball Match & Skills Competition at the Forum, Dec. 20, in conjunction with the 2009 Annual Convention and NCAA Women’s Volleyball Final Four
According to the American Volleyball Coaches Association, requirements for nomination were that the student-athlete be in her senior year of high school, that she be nominated by her high school
coach, that her coach be a member of the AVCA and that her season statistics be entered into MaxPreps.com.
Plant won the 6A state title this past weekend while Berkeley Prep won the 3A state title.
