Senior Janice Rivera reached a personal milestone in the USF volleyball team’s loss Sunday afternoon at Marquette, becoming just the 10th player in program history to reach 1,000 career digs.
Rivera, USF’s leader in the statistical category each of the past two seasons, entered the match with 998 career digs and had a team-best 21 in the Bulls’ 3-1 loss to the Golden Eagles. She has a good chance to climb up the Bulls’ career list; she’s 69 back of seventh on the all-time list.
The Bulls, who won their Big East Conference opener Friday at Syracuse, dropped to 5-9 overall and 1-1 in league play on the year with the loss.
