The plan was to shoot a short video of USF coach Skip Holtz or defensive ends coach Vernon Hargreaves following Monday night’s practice at Holman Stadium here in Vero Beach.
That plan got blown away thanks to the closing ceremonies of the 2010 Bulls Olympic Games.
As part of Holtz’s plan to build team unity, the Bulls competed in free-throw shooting contests, egg-tossing events and a home-run derby to have some fun away from football.
After Monday night’s practice—and in the middle of asking a question of Hargreaves—the lights at Holman Stadium suddenly went out and AC/DC’s “Thunderstruck’’ started blasting over the PA system.
You never know what to expect at Camp Holtz.
I never did get Holtz or Hargreaves on camera. However, while the Bulls watched from the outfield and Angus Young played some nasty licks over the loudspeakers, I did manage to shoot some of the fireworks show:
