Let the record show that at 8:05 a.m., Ocala Forest kicker Chris Veron became the first player to sign with USF in the Skip Holtz Era.
What does that mean? Well, it means he was the first player to fax in his letter-of-intent this morning to USF’s football offices according to USF’s official website.
Veron committed for former Coach Jim Leavitt but didn’t waver in his verbal pledge to the Bulls once Leavitt was fired and replaced by Holtz.
I’m a little surprised by this development personally. Kickers are usually odd balls and adventurous types, so what was Veron doing up so early this morning?
I hope he at least drew a picture of something on his letter-of-intent before faxing it to USF.
Congrats Chris, you are now the answer to a USF trivia question.
