Vanzant, Butler headed to Final Four

Former guard Shawn Vanzant graduated from Wharton in 2007 as the school’s all-time leading scorer. In his final season, the Wildcats went 29-2 and lost to eventual state championship Lake Howell in the 5A region championship.
It was the furthest the program had ever gone.
On Saturday, Vanzant scored five points with three rebounds in 15 minutes played to help Butler defeat Kansas State, 63-56, in the West Regional Final to advance to the school’s first trip to the NCAA Men’s Basketball Final Four.
The Bulldogs are riding a 24-game win streak.
