Vandals strike Lyle Flagg Field

It seems a few aspiring painters found their way to Lyle Flagg Field last night.

Armwood coach Sean Callahan said the Hawks home field was struck by vandals. Someone - or multiple someones - painted multiple versions of “HHS” in black paint across the field and a large “H” over the Hawks “A” at midfield. The Hawks host Hillsborough High School in a big Class 4A-District 9 matchup tonight.

Callahan said Miles Bilinski, a former Hawks assistant who is now on the staff at Strawberry Crest, has done a touch-up job on the field to take care of the problem. Bilinski handled painting the field at Armwood the past several years while he was on Callahan’s staff.

Callahan added no monetary damage was done to the field.
