Puerto Rico puts together a strong second half to light up Miami and end a three-game losing streak in the USSF Division II on Wednesday night.
PUERTO RICO 4, MIAMI 2: Four different Islanders scored in the second half as Puerto Rico won its third game of the season, but they had to come from a goal down to earn all three points.
Miami’s Christian Gomez scored his second goal of the season in the opening minute of the second half, but within a minute Josh Hansen replied for the hosts. Puerto Rico then gave itself a comfortable lead with two goals in five minutes as Nicholas Addlery scored in the 63rd minute before David Foley converted from the penalty spot for a 3-1 lead.
Christopher Nurse added a fourth for the Islanders with five minutes to play, and although former Clearwater High standout Brian Shriver pulled a goal back for Miami two minutes later, the Islanders closed out the game for their third win of the season.
