Carolina extended its undefeated streak, winning its second straight game, as it defeated Puerto Rico to wrap up Week 14 of the USSF Division II season.
CAROLINA 2, PUERTO RICO 0: The RailHawks have still not lost on the road after first-half goals by Sallieu Bundu and Josh Gardner gave them victory against the Islanders on Sunday night.
Bundu gave Carolina the lead in the 18th minute, firing home from the top of the penalty area, and Gardner the advantage eight minutes later as he scored off a rebound after a long throw-in into the penalty area.
That would prove enough as Eric Reed recorded his third shutout of the season, and second straight. The RailHawks are now five points behind Vancouver at the top of the NASL Conference, but with three games in hand on the Whitecaps.
