Considering how far the USF football program has come in a relatively short period since the Bulls played their first game 13 years ago, sometimes it’s easy to forget that USF’s fan base remains an infant when compared to state-schools Florida, Florida State and Miami.
Those programs not only have generations of loyal followers, they also have a national appeal due to past success. USF’s most intense flirtation with a national audience came in 2007 when the Bulls reached No. 2 in the polls.
First-year coach Skip Holtz and his staff understand that to compete on and off the field in football-crazed Florida, you have to reach the youngest fans.
As part of its summer camp program, USF is holding the Junior Bulls Camp on June 13-15. The camp is open to students entering grades one through eight. The cost is $100 per student and includes a Skip Holtz Football Camp t-shirt.
For more information, you can call USF director of player development Patrick Burnham at 813-974-9198 or visit gousfbulls.com for a complete summer camp listing.
