University of South Florida starting quarterback B.J. Daniels on Monday will have an MRI on his injured right shoulder, which he hurt during Saturday’s 6-3 loss to Miami.
A USF spokesperson said the test is being done for precautionary reasons. The injury, which Daniels suffered while being tackled near the USF sideline, is still described as a sprain to his throwing shoulder.
USF is on a short week with Louisville coming to Tampa for a Friday matchup at Raymond James Stadium. Should Daniels be unavailable, sophomore Bobby Eveld, who finished the game under center against the Hurricanes, would make his second career start.
In other USF injury news, senior linebacker Curtis Weatherspoon suffered a left knee injury against Miami and is scheduled for an MRI on Monday.
