I like the schedule...all except for the Auburn game, and the timing of the WVU game. This past year, we had excellent scheduling, almost like a step-laddering up of the level of competition before Big East play. Now, jeez! One tune-up at Elon before taking on Auburn!?
Anything short of an upset win just makes this very foolish scheduling. With the Bulls being notoriously sluggish out of the gate, and the team demoralized from a good old butt-whipping from a top 5 SEC team, WVU can lick it’s chops at the prospect of revenge on USF before September’s done.

Wow, what a schedule! We’re potentially facing a 6-loss season, anyone notice that? The program is gaining national attention and we’re going against some big name schools. Six wins (usually)gets you a bowl game. It’s going to be tough this year. GO BRAHMANS!!

Larry, you know the old saying - money talks, you know what walks. Until college ADs and/or coaches make a stand and say we’re not playing on Friday nights because what it does to the high schools, nothing will ever change. And with the million dollar coaching contracts and multi-million budgets of athletic departments needing any revenue they can get, it’s unlikely many, if any, schools would turn down the national TV exposure (i.e. free publicity for their school) that those games provide.

Friday nights should be reserved for high school football. It is simply SELLING OUT to national sports marketing to do this. The NCAA should take a strong stand and simply state that this will not be allowed.
Meanwhile, college athletic directors and coaches should apologize to local teams for being “cornered” into accepting these games. Look at the negative impact in courting local coaches and players when we do this.
Though I love and support the Bulls, I almost hope it rains that night!
In the long run it is simply selfish, from ESPN, the Conference and the Team.

Thanks for the info Brett. It should be an interesting game this year with a chance to see Mike Ford, Carlton Mitchell, etc. play. Too bad about Gransberry, he could have been another Antonio Gates.

Brett,
We have 3 chances to impress a national audience with one of those games being at home. BULLS fans it is time! Let US represent!

AnhVu, I had a note in my USF column today about the spring game. Here’s the info: SPRING GAME: USF’s spring football game will be April 14 at 7 p.m. at Raymond James Stadium. It’s expected to be televised on Catch 47. Spring practice begins March 20. Also, while Gransberry, who signed a football scholarship to Louisiana Tech out of high school but went to junior college instead, could be a decent tight end, I’m sure his football playing days are over.

Brett,
Any idea when the spring football game will be and what time? Also, if Kentrell Gransberry does not make it in pro basketball(hard to think that he would not), would Jim Leavitt consider letting him play tight end?

What do you think the chances are of
rickey ponton playing ahead of “Built Tough”?
or Williams?
Do you think the freshman will see a lot of time?
DaBulls really need some explosive running to free up the passing game.....
the new offensive coordinator...is he going with the “old play book” of 2 years ago or will he follow the recent game plans of the new WVU coordinator?
I will say, the Bulls offense was much more fun to watch the last two years and a whole bunch less predictable!!
Kudos to coach leavitt on the Iowa signing...that was MAJOR.
Can’t wait for the Spring practice and GREEN and GOLD game!
