The wait is over at the USF football offices for the arrival of Terrence Mitchell’s official letter-of-intent.
Mitchell faxed over his letter after holding a signing press conference at Hillsborough High, where he starred as one of the nation’s top-rated defensive backs last season.
“Gotta love a Tampa boy staying at home at USF,’’ Bulls coach Skip Holtz tweeted shortly after Mitchell signed.
Mitchell is the second member of the ESPNU150 to sign with the Bulls. Miami Northwestern DT Todd Chandler signed earlier this afternoon.
The pair of highly touted defensive players are the gems of Holtz’s first class at USF, which stands at 18 following Mitchell’s signing.
Mitchell originally committed to Florida State, but after a home visit from Holtz last week, he opted to stay close to home and join cousin Lindsey Lamar at USF.
Lamar is a sophomore running back for the Bulls.
