The departures of defensive lineman Brandon Wilkinson and running back Dontae Aycock earlier this fall freed up a pair of scholarships, and USF coach Skip Holtz has decided what he’ll do with one of them, awarding it to walk-on receiver Stephen Bravo-Brown.
Bravo-Brown appeared in all 13 games last season, starting two, and finished the year with 11 receptions for 104 yards. He’s again in the mix for playing time this fall in a deeper, more experienced receiving corps.
“Stephen Bravo-Brown has earned it,” Holtz said. “He was here last year, he played for us, really the only person at this point that has earned it on the field. We have a lot of guys that have a chance to see time this year, but right now, I am definitely going to put Stephen Bravo-Brown on because I believe he’s our guy.”
