The USF women’s soccer team picked up its first Big East Conferencew in of the season Monday, defeating DePaul, 1-0, in overtime at Corbett Soccer Stadium.
Senior forward Chelsea Klotz provided the game winner with 6:26 left in the extra period. It was the fourth goal of the season for Klotz, now tied for the team lead with sophomore Demi Stokes.
It was the second time in less than 24 hours the Bulls and Blue Demons had met on the pitch. The two teams had started play Sunday afternoon, when the game was originally scheduled, but the match was canceled with 6:17 remaining in the first half. USF had a 2-0 lead at the time, but the game was started from scratch Monday at 11 a.m.
USF improved to 5-3-3 on the year and 1-1-2 in Big East play.
