The University of South Florida women’s basketball team pushed its win streak to three on Thursday night, blowing past Bethune-Cookman, 72-36, at the USF Recreation Center.
The Bulls (3-2) got a big defensive effort, limiting the Wildcats (1-1) to just 11 field goals on 22 percent shooting for the game while forcing 28 turnovers. USF also had 15 steals and blocked eight shots.
All 11 USF players who saw action scored and seven had six points or more. Jasmine Wynne scored a game-high 12 points to go with seven rebounds and four steals. Akila McDonald also reached double figures with 10 and added six rebounds and two blocks in 16 minutes of action.
The Bulls don’t play again until Wednesday against Central Michigan in the Great Alaskan Shootout, where a potential clash with No. 7 Miami looms in their final game at the tournament.
