USF vs. FSU: It WILL happen this fall (and in 2012)

The University of South Florida and Florida State announced a home-and-home series between the schools beginning next season in Tallahassee.

The Bulls will visit Tallahassee Sept. 26, 2009, while the Seminoles return to Tampa on Sept. 29, 2012.

“This is a milestone moment for our program and a tremendous opportunity for our players,” USF coach Jim Leavitt said in a statement. “Florida State has a great football tradition and we have a tremendous amount of respect for them. They will present our team with a great challenge and we embrace that.”

USF was scheduled to play at Indiana in 2009, but moved the game back to Sept. 12, 2015 to play FSU in Tallahassee.

“We are pleased to have added USF to our football schedule,” Florida State AD Randy Spetman said in a statement. “Anytime you can play a quality in-state opponent, everybody wins because it generates excitement for fans of both schools throughout the state.”

Well, be careful what you wish for… Now that we have the Noles on the schedule, we better put together a great game plan to BEAT them. Nice to have UM and FSU on the schedule - can we dream and beat them BOTH? 2009 could be our best year ever, or if we lose both in a bad way, it will knock those interstate teams off our schedule for a while. You can probably lose every other game on the schedule of you win those two. Think about it.

I’ll be buying tickets…Bulls fan need to travel to show we are TRUE fans, and will support our road teams.  It matters a lot to show up in numbers, and diminish the foe’s home field advantage.  With Selvie coming back, and Grothe looking to face UM & FSU his Sr. year, I’m excited about the prospects! GO BULLS!!

Dadgummit!!

Just to let you dadgum Bulls fans know, we’re already devising some new dadgum ways to keep all our star players dadgum eligible.

We got the university to offer classes in cup stacking and dadum Shoots N’ Ladders.  If need be, we’ll hire a dadgum tutor to do all their work for them in these two dadgum difficult courses.

I wonder what was/will be harder: getting UM and FSU to schedule us, or actually winning the games? And I don’t see our recruiting getting better since that school up the road might win another national championship tonight.

I will be at this game, no doubt.  Grew up a Nole (still a fan) and went to USF, it will be hard to watch either team lose this game, but I will have to pull for alma mater in the end.  Looking forward to Sept. 26!
