USF to break ground on Muma Basketball Center on March 3

If you’ve been to the Sun Dome lately, you’ve probably noticed the work being done outside of the building in recent weeks.

It’s all part of USF’s master plan to upgrade many of its athletic facilities, including building a new men’s and women’s basketball training facility.

USF announced Tuesday that the official groundbreaking ceremony for the Pam and Les Muma Basketball Center is scheduled March 3.

The ceremony will take place between the entries of Gates 3 and 4, near lot 22F for those keeping score at home.

USF will also break ground soon on construction of a new baseball stadium and softball stadium. The facilities are going to share a common plaza.

If everything goes as planned, all the new facilities are expected to be completed by late spring of 2011.
