USF is still receiving votes in both the AP and USA Today coaches polls.
USF received one 25th-place vote in the AP Poll to rank in a tie for 47th. In the coaches poll, USF actually received 12 points, good enough for 38th place.
In the coaches preseason poll, USF received 11 points - but eight of those points came from USF coach Jim Leavitt voting USF 18th. This week, the Bulls didn’t get any help from Leavitt, who didn’t vote for USF this week.
Cincinnati emerged at No. 23 in both polls. I voted the Bearcats No. 16 in my AP ballot this week.

Brilliant move on CJL’s part. He planted the seed for coaches to rank USF when they otherwise wouldn’t have. They just look in the “others receiving votes” to see if those teams won or lost and move them up or down accordingly; then they get back to doing what they get paid to do—coach. I like the strategy coach!
