USF releases post-spring depth chart

USF football coach Skip Holtz released the team’s post spring depth chart Friday. There were a handful of changes from the mid-spring depth chart, including converted cornerback Terrence Mitchell moving into a first-team spot at one receiver position and Reshard Cliett and Curtis Weatherspoon now listed as co-first teamers at strongside linebacker.
Mitchell didn’t a good job of making catches on a consistent basis this spring; offensive coordinator Todd Fitch said he didn’t have a drop in either of the final two scrimmages. That was something Sterling Griffin had some trouble with, and he was the first-teamer bumped out by Mitchell.
There was some shuffling at the linebacker position from the mid-spring depth chart. Sam Barrington, listed on the mid-spring two-deep as the starter on the strongside, has now shifted back to the middle, ahead of Mike Lanaris. Weatherspoon has shifted from the weakside to strongside, and vice versa for Mike Jeune, who is listed behind starter DeDe Lattimore. Cliett was a co-second teamer with Jeune at strongside on the mid-spring chart.
There was also some minor shuffling in the secondary, where cornerback Tyson Butler, who wasn’t listed on the mid-spring chart, has moved to strong safety and is now listed as a co-second teamer with JaQuez Jenkins. Ernie Tabuteau has switched from left to right cornerback, and vice versa for George Baker, and both are now co-second teamers with Spencer Boyd and Ricardo Dixon, who were not on the mid-spring chart.
The only other player not listed on the mid-spring two-deep who has worked his way into a spot is fullback Chris Breit (second team), and the only players who were on the two-deep not there anymore are fullback Chase Griffiths (supplanted by Breit) and backup long snapper Corey Schomp (starter Mike Walsh now stands alone).
And, one notable position switch on defense is Anthony Hill has moved from defensive tackle, where he was a co-second teamer on the mid-spring depth chart, to defensive end, where he is now a co-second teamer.
Here is the complete post-spring depth chart:
