USF recruit Stephen Weatherford usually throws the ball, but he makes a catch in his latest appearance on the football field.
Weatherford, who is about to enter his senior season as one of the Tampa Bay area’s top quarterbacks at Land O’ Lakes High, verbally committed to USF earlier this summer.
He expects to enroll in January after finishing his career at Land O’ Lakes, capping a streak of 11 consecutive seasons in which a Weatherford has started at quarterback for the Gators.
But if you’ve watched TV lately, you may have seen the younger Weatherford and his older brothers, including former Florida State quarterback Drew Weatherford, campaigning for brother Will in a TV ad. You can read about Drew’s brush with politics three years ago by clicking here.
State Rep. Will Weatherford, R-Wesley Chapel, is running for re-election and has called on his brothers and father, Bill, to help him campaign.
Check out the ad here:
As for Stephen, he’s the last Weatherford brother to appear, catching a pass and then saying, ‘‘With Will, what you see is what you get.”
And with that, he hands off to his dad.
