VERO BEACH – University of South Florida President Judy Genshaft has been unanimously elected chairperson of the NCAA Board of Directors.
Big East Conference commissioner John Marinatto informed USF and league officials of Genshaft’s selection on Friday via an e-mail.
Genshaft was named to the NCAA Board of Directors in 2009 as the Big East Conference’s representative. She has served as the president of USF since July 5, 2000.
In his e-mail to league officials, Marinatto said:
“On behalf of the Big East Conference, I would like to take this opportunity to genuinely congratulate Judy, wish her the best of luck as she undertakes this very important and challenging endeavor and pledge to her the full support, assistance and cooperation of our office.’’
According to USF officials, Genshaft is out of town and unavailable until next week.

Guess USF won’t have any NCAA violations for a while, huh? Can’t say the same for the Canes, Noles, or Gators, though!
