USF’s first ever Thursday night home ESPN game against Pittsburgh will conflict with the Tampa Bay Ray’s first postseason game, also on Thursday.
The Rays, who clinched the American League East early Saturday morning, will play host to either Minnesota or the Chicago White Sox in Game 1 of the AL Division Series on Thursday. Start time for the Rays’ game likely won’t be determined for a few days, so it’s unknown if it will go head-to-head with USF-Pitt or merely be played on the same day.
BULLS BATTLE BECK, WOLFPACK: USF has yet to play it’s A game, senior C Jake Griffin said and the Bulls hope to put together a complete game tonight at N.C. State.
Here’s the advance and game capsule in today’s Tribune.
Also, although Harrison Beck has been named the starter, don’t be surprised if Russell Wilson, who was listed as out earlier this week, makes an appearance.
“Right now, Harrison Beck will start, and we will go from there,” said N.C. State coach Tom O’Brien, the Raleigh News and Observer reports. “Hopefully he will play and play well. The whole game.”
Wilson was named the ACC’s Offensive Player of the Week after leading N.C. State to last week’s upset of East Carolina.

Ari, you’re right, it’s unlikely Rays will be late game, but if it’s a 4 p.m. start (a very real possibility), you may lose some fans that may not want to do a double-header, driving over from St. Pete afer the Rays game.

Not a high chance the Rays will be the evening game. Have to assume that the Sox - Angels is going to be in primetime. Gotta figure thats the game everyone is going to want to see.

That’s not good news about the scheduling conflict. Both teams need a packed house for their games. I have a bad feeling about the Pitt game…

Steve, you’re right. I’m guessing TV would probably put the Cubs on primetime Thursday night.
