USF opened its new soccer venue in style Tuesday night, with the Bulls men’s squad defeating the University of Tampa, 2-1, in an exhibition at the Corbett Soccer Stadium.
Attendance was strong on opening night, drawing an announced crowd of 1,440, which included 900 USF students.
The Bulls got goals from Dom Dwyer and T.J. Roehn and a few key saves from goalkeeper Chris Blais in the win, which wrapped up the squad’s preseason schedule.
The first regular-season contest in the new venue is scheduled for Friday, with the USF women’s team hosting Indiana. The Bulls men open the regular season Saturday at Wake Forest.
