Here is a quick look at what happened in USF athletics over the past week, as well as a quick look ahead:

VOLLEYBALL: The Bulls began Big East Conference play 2-0 with a pair of home wins this weekend. Allie Boaz had 14 kills and three blocks in a 3-0 win over Marquette on Friday, and Boaz had 15 kills and Janice Rivera added 23 digs in a 3-2 win over Syracuse on Sunday. USF (6-7 overall, 2-0 in Big East), winners of three straight, returns to the court Friday at home against Notre Dame and also hosts DePaul on Sunday.

MEN’S SOCCER: The Bulls fell on the road to Connecticut, 4-0, in their Big East Conference opener on Friday, which snapped their four-match win streak. USF (4-2-1 overall, 0-1 in Big East) returns to the pitch Wednesday at home against Rhode Island and also hosts conference foe Syracuse on Saturday.

WOMEN’S SOCCER: The Bulls went 1-0-1 over the past week, earning a 2-0 victory over Pittsburgh and playing to a scoreless tie against West Virginia. Chelsea Klotz and Taylor Patterson each scored in the second half to lift the Bulls to the win over the Panthers on Thursday, their first win in Big East Conference play. Junior goalkeeper Nicole McClure recorded her third shutout of the season in a draw with the Mountaineers on Sunday. USF (6-2-2 overall, 1-1-1 in Big East) returns to the pitch Friday at Georgetown and also plays at Villanova on Sunday.

MEN’S GOLF: The Bulls finished sixth out of 13 teams at the John Dallio Memorial in Lemont, Ill., posting rounds of 295, 303 and 306. Senior Robby Carl finished ninth individually with rounds of 74, 72 and 76.
