USF kicker Eric Schwartz is making a strong bid at International Bowl MVP with the way this game is going.
Schwartz just kicked his second field goal of the game, putting the Bulls up 6-3 with 10:35 left in the third quarter of a defense-fest.
Schwartz’s 19-yard kick capped a 9-play, 81-yard drive by the Bulls on their opening possession of the first half.
Mike Ford’s 36-yard run, and B.J. Daniels’ 31-yard pass to Carlton Mitchell were the key plays on the drive.
NIU now has the ball near midfield as the middle of the third quarter approaches.
