The panel of three arbitrators sided with the Rays on Saturday, meaning center fielder B.J. Upton will make $3 million this season and not the $3.3 million he sought.
Upton made $435,000 in 2009.
The Rays are now 4-0 in arbitration hearings.

I can’t believe that Upton warrants 3 million dollars? Great outfielder and can cover a lot of ground, but those type guys are also found at the AAA level as well. Upton needs to have a breakout year or I’d be shopping him around and would make a spot for a younger guy that can hit and hustle and not strike out half the time.
