UF’s Pouncey named Rimington finalist

Florida junior Maurkice Pouncey was named a finalist for the 2009 Rimington Trophy today, awarded annually to the outstanding center in college football. He joins Mike Degory (2005) as the only Gator finalists in school history.
Pouncey has started 28 consecutive games for Florida (12-0), which meets Alabama (12-0) at 4 p.m. Saturday for the SEC championship at the Georgia Dome.
The winner of the Rimington Trophy will be announced on Dec. 10 at the Home Depot Awards Show in Disney.
