UF men’s basketball SEC TV schedule

For the second year in the 15-year contract with the SEC and ESPN, Florida’s league men’s basketball games will get huge coverage nationally on the sports network.

  The Gators, who reached the NCAA Tournament for the first time last March since winning the 2007 national title, return their entire starting lineup from a year ago and are forecast by several experts to be a Top 25 team in 2010-11.

  UF’s league schedule was released on Thursday and it will play 12 SEC games on national television, opening SEC play on Jan. 8 at home against Ole Miss before traveling to Tennessee three days later for its first of three Super Tuesday appearances.  After a home game vs. South Carolina on Jan. 15, the Gators have the first of two Thursday-Saturday turnarounds, traveling to Auburn on Jan. 20 before hosting Arkansas on Jan. 22.

  Florida then has a pair of national TV games at Georgia on Jan. 25 on ESPN and at Mississippi State on CBS on Jan. 29. The Gators are back home for two of their bigger games on Feb. 1 on ESPN vs. Vanderbilt and Feb. 5 vs. Kentucky. Both are 9 p.m. tip-offs and Gameday will also be in Gainesville for the UK contest.

    The Gators return the trip to South Carolina on Feb. 9 before returning home for a showdown with Tennessee on Feb. 12 on either ESPN of ESPN2. The Gators then have their lone bye of the league schedule before heading to Baton Rouge on Feb. 20 to take on LSU on either ESPN or ESPN2.

  Florida then has its final Thursday-Saturday combination of the season, with home date vs. Georgia on Feb. 24 on either ESPN or ESPN2 and a trip to Kentucky on Feb. 26 on CBS.

  Senior Day will be on March 1 against Alabama on ESPNU, while the Gators will close out the regular season on March 5 at Vanderbilt on ESPN. The SEC Tournament will be held from March 10-13 at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta.
