Two members of the Sickles girls soccer team have made commitments to colleges and will be signing next Wednesday, Gryphons’ coach George Arroyo confirmed Friday.
Senior defender Sienna Brooks has committed to Palm Beach Atlantic University and midfielder Alexis Rodriguez has committed to Jacksonville State University in Alabama.
Brooks and Rodriguez have both been captains for the Gryphons for the past two seasons. This year, Sickles was 7-6-2 with the Gryphons season ending in the 4A-8 district quarterfinals with a 3-2 loss to Gaither.
“Both Sienna and Alexis are tremendous players and have been the rocks of this team for the last few years,” Arroyo said. “They have been outstanding for this team and have been great teachers for the young players.”
On the season Brooks scored three goals, while Rodriguez had a goal and four assists.
