TORONTO—It’s the top of the sixth and the Blue Jays already have lost two shortstops today.
David Eckstein had to leave with a strained groin, and John McDonald just got carted off after rolling over his right ankle when it appeared his spikes got caught in the turf. McDonald’s injury looked awfully bad; hopefully he’ll come through it OK.
Marco Scutaro is now on playing short.
I wonder who the Rays’ third shortstop would be right now, after Bartlett and Cannizaro. Longoria moving over? Aki?

LOOKING OVER THE INFIELDERS NOT TO INCLUDE 1B THE STARTERS OF LONGORIA, BARTLETT AND AKI SHOULD BE THE KEEPERS FOR SOME TIME <> ALL 3 SHOULD BE HITTING GOOD BY JUNE <> FROM WHAT I READ LONGORIA HAS PLAYED SOME [SS] BUT I WONDER IF AYBAR WILL FIT IN AND BE THE TOP UTILITY [INF] <> HE HAS SHOWN TO BE SOLID AT 3D AND IS A FINE HITTER <> IF HE CAN PLAY A DECENT [SS] I’D PREFER HIM OVER ZOBRIST <> AYBAR HELP PRODUCE RUNS. FLOYD WILL BE LIFT !!
